the colour yellow
there are a lot of people wearing yellow aertex shirts in Bangkok. Some have the royal insignia, some simply read I 'heart' the king and there are yellow bangles everywhere reading 'long live the king'.
It may be the 60th anniversary of his accession to the throne, it may be that the king was due to go in for a spine operation this evening - or a combination....
Apparently yellow is the colour of loyalty. Andy Stahl said that yellow was the colour of Monday and this is the day that the king was born, someone else just said it was the colour of royalty. I did see one stall selling pale blue aertext shirts with the royal insignia, but not anyone wearing blue. I vaguely wondered if the blue shirts were future proofing, but have yet to find out....
